AMES Volunteer Tutors assist adult migrants and refugees to learn and improve their English language skills and adjust to their new life in Australia.
As a volunteer tutor all you need is: To speak, read and write English fluently; To be comfortable relating to people from different cultures; The generosity to commit one or two hours of your time each week; The willingness to help someone understand the Aussie way of life
AMES volunteer tutors are provided with accredited training, appropriate learning materials and the opportunity to attend follow-up workshops.
A coordinator provides volunteer tutors with support, access to resources and opportunities for social interaction.
